We guzzled down healthy and fresh food in the fab downtown spot Laitue&Go where both salad dressing and drinks flowed freely.
Many new folks made it out to the event and we'd like to chalk this up to the engaging and charming presenter for the evening, Janina Szkut and her session on "How to Build a Gaming Rig".Janina took us through the step by step process of how to put together one 'bitchin' system' for those how want their games fit for the PC. She gave an overview of the reasons why someone would want to go through all of the time, energy and financial considerations involved with a DIY option and then provided a list of all of the necessary components to be used for this kind of project.
Via the use of photos taken while she assembled the rig, Janina was able to visually explain the simple and not so simple aspects on her journey to gamegraphicawesomeness.

She recounted her nightmarish story of 'the attack of the 50 ft tall heatsink' and this photo just explains it all..
All in all, Janina made this complex sounding subject accessible for all who attended and did a A+ job in delivering both an interesting and geeky presentation.
A big thank you to Les Laboratoires Foulab who filled us in on their community hacker space which has the mandate of providing "an environment and resources that allow people to exchange knowledge, ideas and explore new technologies." I'd invite you to check out the space and get in touch with them to further explore your geeky self.

They offer Open House sessions every Thursday so you can see what they're all about. Check out this video of their opening Open House. *Warning- this video features a robot with a Pabst Blue Ribbon.
Also rounding out this jam-packed MTL GGD was the visit of the esteemed ArtTV program, Mange ta ville who shot some footage for an upcoming episode. If you don't yet know this program, do check it out.

Their website alone is well worth the visit but further than that, they are a great group of people documenting Montreal in a way that is truly captivating and dynamic. We're very very flattered that they chose to cover our geeky dinner meetings.
