Presenting our Panelists for the Women in Technology Panel Discussion

Women in Technology Panel Discussion
co-presented by Montreal Girl Geeks and Startup Drinks.

Much has been said about the gender disparity in the world of technology, but what can all of us do to improve the situation? This panel discussion will be focused on finding solutions to increase the visibility, and numbers of women in tech.

Our Moderator

Adele McAlear is an integrated marketing consultant who is an early adopter of social media and a technology enthusiast. With over 20 years marketing experience, she offers strategic consulting to help companies define their social media approach and implement it effectively throughout their marketing mix. In addition, Adele offers workshops and training in social media concepts, strategy and tools to help people build relationships online. Learn more about Adele at adelemcalear.com.

Our Panelists

Tara 'missrogue' Hunt is CEO and co-founder of the startup Shwowp: an online customer empowerment tool, the author of The Whuffie Factor, a book published in 8 languages (English, French, Dutch, Japanese, Indonesian, Korean, Spanish and Italian), speaks internationally on how the social web is changing the world and does random stuff like karaoke roadtrips, breakdancing and training for marathons in her spare time. She also spends an inordinate and somewhat unhealthy amount of time online. Learn more about Tara Hunt at horsepigcow.com

Robin Ahn is Operations and Community Manager for Flow Ventures, a startup accelerator in Montreal. As an instigator on startupdrinks.ca and Montreal curator on events email list "The Startup Digest", it's her pleasure to be implicated across the local startup scene. Robin loves to find potential and has turned introductions into an unofficial hobby. She would love it if someone would do her the good turn of introducing her Jessica Livingston (Partner, Y Combinator). Robin also hates writing about herself, especially in the third person.

Elisabeth Vanderveldt, Owner of Conamex International. Elisabeth started the ‘Women in Technology’ (WIT) movement with IAMCP and along with her daughter co-founded GEN Inc, an initiative to encourage young girls and women to get involved with technology.
