We were fortunate to learn all about blogging and maintaining an online identity at the March Girl Geek Dinner held at the oh so tasty Tibetan Om Restaurant which featured Kim Vallee from the uber-stylish, lifestyle and entertainment blog, At Home with Kim Vallee.
Kim gave us a background on how she came to be inspired to get involved in blogging about style, food, restaurants, home decor and overall 'fine living'. She is an engaging speaker and it is clear that she is as passionate about the subject of online brand identity as she is about all that is beautiful in the world of design
We were led through the methods that Kim uses to ensure her posts are made SEO-friendly, her blog-design techniques, the importance of commenting on other people's blogs as well as in ensuring that the title of blog posts are clear and relevant. Partnerships are essential to Kim's success and she reviewed with us the techniques she employs to befriend and cultivate relationships with those whose products she promotes on her blog. I found this essential as many of us as bloggers (speaking for myself) can easily get caught up in blogging as a solitary act and not giving attention to the readers that support us along the way.
I learned so much from Kim's talk and hope that other attendees who either have blogs or are looking to start one found her session insightful.

What a great review Kim.
Your talk was awesome and the layout of your review of the night is much better than any print magazine out there!!!
I hope that you will speak at more events and share your knowledge.
Next year- let's go to BlogHer!
